Nelson Central School Cross Country 2012

What a fantastic time we had for our annual school cross country events recently. Well done to all our students on their efforts as they have been practicing over a number of weeks.

On behalf of the staff and students I would like to thank the following people for their support by marshalling on the course and recording the results. It is a big event and without their help it would make it very difficult to run:

Nelson Primary Schools Cross Country Championships 2010

A team of 19 selected runners recently competed in the annual Nelson Primary Schools Cross Country Championships at Saxton Field. There were over 385 children competing from throughout the Nelson District. All were top runners from every school represented at the event.

They competed over a 2 km course which proved challenging. The wet weather prior to the event had provided very muddy conditions with a large amount of water lying on the course. This combined with the wind chill factor made going difficult. All gave their best and showed great sportsmanship. Congratulations team, well done.

Kahikatea Soccer Finals

Last week the Kahikatea syndicate held a soccer tournament. It was made up of students from all 4 classes.

The winner of the final was team 4 Tom and Callum room 5, Luke and Aiden roo

m 3, Jordan room 14 and Bailey, Max and Kahu room 17.

The girls put up a brave match, they were Tayla and Molly (Jessie was away sick) room 6, Aimee and Ella room 3, Hannah and Madison room 5 and Cheyelle and Cheyanne room 17. The final s

core was 9-1.
